Get to know Marisa

Marisa Palmer joined Training The Street in 2026. She started her career on Wall Street, including as real estate acquisitions associate focused on sale-leaseback financing, an investment banker in the telecom group at Lehman Brothers, and as a credit analyst at the hedge fund, Tudor Investment Corporation. She transitioned into building corporate training businesses and teaching. She served as Director of Americas for Adkins, Matchett & Toy, an international financial services training firm later acquired by Training The Street. She also spearheaded the creation of GLG University for Gerson Lehrman Group, a primary research firm.

Since 2018, Marisa has lectured full-time at the Wisconsin School of Business (WSB) where she teaches Investment Banking & Capital Markets, Business Valuation and Private Capital to undergraduate and MBA students. She won WSB’s Educational Innovation Award, the Mabel W. Chipman Excellence in Teaching Award, and was named one of the “Favorite Business Professors of the Class of 2020” by Poets & Quants magazine. She is experienced in in-person, hybrid and virtual course delivery as well as online and in-person course development.

Marisa creates an engaging and highly collegial classroom environment. She is adept with topics including accounting, Excel modeling, valuation, leveraged buyouts, strategic M&A, equity capital markets and credit analysis.
