Training The Street (TTS), the leading corporate training provider for Wall Street firms and top business schools, today announced its partnership with Venture for America (VFA), a non-profit organization that encourages entrepreneurship amongst college graduates to aid struggling cities across the U.S. This year’s full incoming class of 122 VFA fellows will participate in a live TTS financial training seminar, which will include financial modeling, technical skills, and proficiency in Excel. In addition, TTS will offer continuing development training to all of the 200-plus past VFA fellows and provide access to online self-study courses, all on a pro bono basis. The live course will be held at Brown University on July 6.
The partnership between TTS and VFA fuses the expertise of both organizations. TTS will provide the same industry-leading financial training program used by top Wall Street banks and MBA programs to help VFA fellows launch their careers and businesses. This will assist VFA in fulfilling its mission of creating opportunities for college graduates and aspiring entrepreneurs to work at startups across the country while they help struggling local economies.
The full day course for the VFA fellows will mirror TTS’s Applied Excel course, which teaches students how to utilize the program’s sophisticated functions and analyze data, amongst other skills. TTS will also provide digital self-study materials to current and past VFA fellows, including financial statement analysis & accounting, and corporate and merger valuation.
“I strongly believe in Venture for America’s mission of training the future generation of business leaders. As an educator and as an entrepreneur I am extremely enthusiastic about Training The Street’s partnership with this outstanding organization,” said Scott Rostan, Founder and CEO of Training The Street. “The combination of business education from VFA and financial training from TTS will help these promising graduates become successful business owners and tremendous assets to our society.”
“Venture for America’s partnership with Training The Street is a natural fit. Their expertise fills a niche within our training program and provides our fellows with even more essential tools to set out and advance their own careers while furthering job creation in this country,” said Andrew Yang, Founder and CEO of VFA.
