— Financial Learning Service Provider Uses Wall Street’s Tools for Legal Clients —

NEW YORK, February 11, 2014 – Training The Street (TTS), a leading corporate training provider for the top Wall Street firms and business schools, officially announced today the launch of its law firm practice group. Adapting TTS’s coursework offered to banks, corporations, investment firms, consulting firms and academia, TTS is now providing training to law firms to assist transactional and litigation attorneys in understanding financial statement analysis, corporate valuation, takeover transactions, debt or equity issuances, and other relevant areas.

Today’s announcement formalizes what has been a growing practice area for TTS, which is already working with top-ten national law firms. In each training session, which is held at the client’s offices, TTS uses practical and real-life examples that attorneys encounter in various transactional and corporate litigation matters.

“It is critical for all attorneys to have a working understanding of the terms and techniques behind the analysis conducted by finance and business professionals,” said Alex Lue, Principal at TTS and head of TTS’s law firm practice group. “This integral knowledge benefits law firms and their corporate clients alike. Attorneys at all levels need to be well-versed in financial matters and how to think more like their clients.”

TTS tailors its training programs to a specific law firm’s needs. Topics covered include financial statement analysis, corporate valuation, financial modeling, and understanding strategic acquisitions and leveraged buyouts. The course curriculum is based off of fourteen years of working with the nation’s leading investment banks and business schools.

“Expanding our class offerings to law firms was a natural evolution for Training The Street as there are many types of professionals that benefit from practical financial training,” said Scott Rostan, Founder and CEO of TTS. “The current business environment has heightened the need for legal professionals to have a strong foundation for accurately evaluating corporate financial matters. In fact, more merger and acquisition deals are resulting in litigation than ever before.”

Mr. Rostan cited a recent study by a New York Times columnist that found shareholders challenged 97.5% of M&A deals in 2013 valued over $100 million, with an average of seven lawsuits per transaction. “The statistics reflect what we see as a steady and increasing need for well-rounded legal professionals,” added Mr. Rostan.
